LESLIE TOWNSHIP RESIDENTS

 

The Leslie Township Board of Trustees have set the regular scheduled meetings of the Township Board of Trustees for the second Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. EXCEPT July will be the third Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. in the Leslie Township Board Room located at 4279 Oak Road, Leslie, Michigan.

 

The Board of Trustees set the meetings of the Planning Commission for the first Wednesday of September, November, February and April at 6:00 p.m. in the Leslie Township Board Room located at 4279 Oak Road, Leslie, Michigan.

ALL LESLIE TOWNSHIP MEETINGS WILL BE CONDUCTED IN THE LOWER LEVEL UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

 

Other meetings will be posted in compliance with the Open Meetings Act.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Leslie Township Planning Commission will hold a public hearing at the Leslie Township Hall, located 4279 Oak St. - P.O. Box 577 - Leslie, MI 49251, on May 25, 2022 at 6:00 pm for the purpose of receiving public comment on a proposed large-scale solar energy system located east of Tuttle Road and south of Plains Road and Tuttle Road intersection. An application has been submitted for a Utility-Scale Solar Energy System (SES), known as the Blue Elk 2 Solar Project, on one hundred and seventy-five (175) acres of undeveloped, agricultural land. Detailed plans for review at the Leslie Township Hall and written comments regarding the proposed plan should be directed to the Leslie Township Clerk at 4279 Oak St. - P.O. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
LESLIE TOWNSHIP, INGHAM COUNTY

ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT

ORDINANCE NO. 22.6-1___________

The Leslie Township Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. on May 25, 2022, at the Leslie Township Hall, 4279 Oak St., Leslie, MI 49251, to consider and hear public comment concerning an amendment to the Leslie Township Zoning Ordinance to redefine the term “Event Barn”; to require Event Barns be an accessory use to an owner-occupied single family residential dwelling; to impose additional requirements for the operation of such facilities and operations; and to repeal any ordinances or parts of ordinances or resolutions in conflict with the Ordinance.
The Ordinance has the following sections and catch lines: Section 1: which amends Article IX, Section 9.2, to redefine the term "Event Barn”; Section 2: which amends Article VII, Section 7.7.2, to impose additional requirements for the operation of Event Barns; Section 3: Severability; Section 4: Repeal, which repeals all other ordinances in conflict with the Ordinance; and Section 5: Effective Date, which is seven (7) days after the publication of this notice of adoption. 
A copy of the proposed Zoning Ordinance amendment is available for inspection at the office of the Township Clerk, 4279 Oak St., Leslie, MI 49251, and will also be available for inspection at the public hearing. Written comments will be received by the Township at the Township Hall prior to the public hearing or at the public hearing. Oral comments may also be made at the public hearing. 
Leslie Township will provide auxiliary aids or services to individuals with disabilities. Persons needing such services should contact the office of the Township Clerk by writing or calling the Township Clerk not less than four (4) days before the public hearing.
